| Eastern Havana |
| |
It was to the east of the city of Havana that the British forces landed in 1762 to take possession of the Cabaña heights, whence they captured the Morro castle and then the city. To the east of the bay they had to contend with not only the Spanish forces but also the defence of Cuban patriots. This tour will enable an appreciation of this period of Havana’s history, and also of the architecture of the late twentieth century as seen in the Panamerican village and stadia. The tour will conclude with a refreshing swim at the East Beaches.
