Old Havana’s architecture is the glorious result of the adaptation of Andalusian stylistic vocabulary to tropical conditions and materials. The mudéjar influence can be clearly seen in exquisite facades, arcades of columns and atmospheric inner courtyards, as can the flamboyantly Cuban sense of colour and ornament which prevails throughout local streets and squares. Devote a morning to exploring Old Havana’s best buildings on foot with Juliet Barclay’s expert guidance.
